GRIZZLIES ACQUIRE ALL-STAR AARON HILL

SAUGET, Ill. — The Gateway Grizzlies have acquired the rights of Lake Erie Crushers star infielder Aaron Hill.  Hill was acquired as a result of a trade in which the Grizzlies sent Luis Roman and Thomas Nicoll to the Schaumburg Boomers in exchange for Hill’s contractual rights.

Hill has spent his only two years of professional baseball with the Lake Erie Crushers.  During that time Hill has posted strong numbers (.280 AVG/18 HR/62 RBI).  In 2018, Hill was named a Frontier League All-Star as a rookie.

“We are thrilled to add Aaron to our team.”  Grizzlies manager Phil Warren said.  “Aaron’s speed makes him extremely dynamic.  We are thrilled to plug him into the top of our lineup and see what he can do.  Anytime you can add an all-star player to your team, it’s very exciting.”

Prior to his professional career Hill played his collegiate baseball at the University of Connecticut.  Hill was a strong contributor for the Huskies for four years.  The Connecticut native graduated from UCONN in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
