The former Frontier League All-Star spent the 2006 season as the Director of Player Personnel and was named the fourth manager in franchise history on November 3, 2006.

Prior to the 2006 season, the St. Louis native spent three seasons on the playing field for the Grizzlies and parts of six total seasons in the Frontier League. Prior to his Frontier League career, he was an all-conference performer at Southeast Missouri State University. He and Grizzlies hitting coach Darin Kinsolving were inducted into the SEMO Athletics Hall of Fame as members of the 1998 Ohio Valley Conference championship team, the first RedHawks group to ever win the OVC and qualify for an NCAA Regional. Warren played high school baseball and soccer at Vianney High School.

He owns and operates the Grizzlies Baseball Academy. Warren and his wife, Sarah, reside in Freeburg, Ill.
