GRIZZLIES COACHES NAMED TO SEMO HOF

SAUGET, Illinois - Grizzlies' Field Manager Phil Warren and Hitting Coach Darin Kinsolving will be inducted to the Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) Athletics Hall of Fame alongside their 1998 teammates.

This team was the first in the school's history to win the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament and advance to the NCAA Division I Tournament. SEMO finished the 1998 season with an overall record of 32-24 (15-9 in OVC play).

Warren was named to the OVC All-Tournament Team as the Redhawks advanced to the NCAA Division I Regionals for the first time ever.

"My baseball experience at Southeast Missouri State University was great. Being a part of the 1998 team was an awesome experience as well," says Warren.

"Playing in the NCAA Regional at Wichita State, versus Wichita State, in front of 5,000 people and almost winning that game was one of my favorite memories of that season. There were a lot of memories made, records broken, and life-long relationships established that season.  I'm honored to be recognized as a part of that team's success, thankful our team will receive the Hall of Fame recognition, and I look forward to the events of that day."

"I am truly honored to be a part of the Southeast Missouri State Hall of Fame alongside my 1998 teammates," says Kinsolving. "This was a team of fierce competitors and to see the way this team came together that year, I¹ll never forget. To this day I still stay in contact with many of the players and coaches from the 1998 team and am blessed to have shared the field of battle with these fine men!  I look forward to the Hall of Fame celebration in April."

The 1998 team will be inducted as the 2017 Hall of Fame class prior to SEMO's baseball game against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, April 7. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Capaha Field.
