The former closer spent six years in independent baseball and holds two franchise records for the Grizzlies, including most games pitched (153) and most saves in a career (51).
In 2013, Barrett had an All-Star season where he collected a team-high 14 saves in 35 games pitched and a posted 3.15 ERA. In 2014, he improved to 19 saves with a 2.89 ERA.
Since retiring, the California native also served as a pitching instructor for the Grizzlies Baseball Academy and a lead instructor for Team Retro.
Richard enjoys being able to teach players from the 8U level all the way through the professional ranks. Richard currently resides in St. Peters, Missouri.
