EARLY LEAD NOT ENOUGH TO CARRY GATEWAY

Gateway's offense started off with two runs in the first three innings of the game, but was shut out through the final six innings. FINAL/10: Florence 3, Grizzlies 2.

The Grizzlies struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Cody Livesay scored on a ground out to the left side by Blake Brown. Gateway took an early 1-0 lead.
After a scoreless second inning, Florence answered with one run in the top of the third. Jose Brizuela picked up an RBI with his ninth double of the season.

It didn't take long for Gateway to break the tie. One run came across in the bottom of the third inning with the help of Blake Brown's 10th long ball of the season.
After three scoreless frames, Florence picked up another tying run in the top of the seventh. Daniel Fraga brought in a run with his second hit of the night.
After a scoreless eighth and ninth, the game headed into extra innings for the fourth time in the past eight games at GCS Credit Union Ballpark.
With two outs in the top half of the tenth, Taylor Oldham launched a solo home run of the over the left field wall. Florence held a slim one run lead heading into the bottom of the tenth.
The Grizzlies had the bases loaded, down by one run, two outs, with Brown at the plate. He pushed the count full, but struck out swinging to end the ballgame.
Will Anderson had another impressive outing. Through seven innings, Anderson gave up two runs (one earned) off of seven hits. He walked just one and struck out two in the no-decision.
Blake Brown went 2 for 5 with two RBIs.
