GRIZZLIES OFFENSE INCONSISTENT, LAKE ERIE TAKES GAME TWO

Grizzlies could not find consistent offense Wednesday night as they fall to Lake Erie by a score of 7-2.

Lake Erie stole a run in the first inning after a double steal brought in the Crusher's leadoff man Connor Hofmann. Lake Erie added another run in the fourth inning after Sean Hurley scored on a fielder's choice. They continued that trend by scoring a single run in the top of the sixth inning as Max Casper picked up his first hit and RBI of the series. Lake Erie led 3-0 going into the seventh inning.

The Grizzlies were shut out through the first six innings of the game. Things changed quickly when Evan Rogers crushed his first home run of the season with Terry McClure leading off first to tie bring the Grizzlies within one.

The momentum seemed to be heading in the Grizzlies' direction, however Max Casper had other ideas. Casper picked up two more RBIs with a two out single in the top of the 8th inning to help Lake Erie regain a three-run lead.

The Grizzlies could not get anything going through the last two innings. Lake Erie added one more run in the top of the ninth to seal a 7-2 victory.

Vince Molesky finished the night with three runs given up (two earned) on five hits through six innings pitched. He also picked up four strikeouts and walked three.

Evan Rogers continued his hot start at the plate, going two-for-three including his first home run of the season.

The Grizzlies will look to bounce back in the finale against Lake Erie on Thursday as Will Anderson is set to make his third start of 2017. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
